Children and teens with disabilities can move in new, fun ways with the help of Choogie. Now offered at developmental schools and hospital schools throughout Eastern Massachusetts, Choogie empowers anyone in a wheelchair, with limited mobility, or developmental disabilities. It’s an energetic, uplifting class that has real fitness benefits—though the smiles are often the best benefit of all. Choogie makes a perfect addition to a school’s therapeutic recreation program.
Choogie is an engaging, music-filled, 50-minute program where disabled children and teens can:
- Exercise in a wheelchair or other chair at their own pace
- Strengthen both upper and lower body
- Try any exercises they want
- “Dance” in their seats to upbeat, energizing music from pop stars like Lady Gaga
